Dr. Aaron Rivkin is a board-certified physician in both Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University School of Medicine — one of the nation's largest and most respected medical institutions — then completed his Family Medicine residency at Beaumont Wayne and his Addiction Medicine fellowship at Trinity Health Ann Arbor.
He is opening Rivkin Addiction Medicine with one purpose: to meet patients exactly where they are, without judgment, and help them move toward the life they want. His clinical interests span opioid use disorder, alcohol use disorder, behavioral addictions, stimulant use, and safe withdrawal management — and every care plan is built around the individual patient.

Clinical Experience
Before opening Rivkin Addiction Medicine, Dr. Rivkin spent four years working within the Trinity Health system, including inpatient addiction medicine consults and outpatient treatment. He also worked in the Chemical Dependency Unit at Trinity Health Livonia — a specialized inpatient unit dedicated to substance use disorder care. That breadth of experience across multiple care settings, from medically complex inpatient cases to ongoing outpatient recovery, shaped the comprehensive, patient-centered approach he brings to every appointment.

Outside the Office
When he's not with patients, Dr. Rivkin's priority is time with his family — his wife and two daughters. Family is at the center of everything. You'll also find him on the ice playing hockey, on the golf course, watching football or basketball, or binge-watching something he's already three seasons behind on — usually with family nearby and the dogs underfoot (they disagree about personal space).
